Ingredients
2 lbs. ground beef
Two 16 oz. cans of tomato puree
1 chopped onion
1 cup of red wine (optional) or use beef broth instead
chopped fresh basil leaves

Directions
1. Sauté the onion, followed by the ground meat.
2. Once the beef has browned pour the red wine or beef broth onto it.
3. Mix in the two cans of tomato puree, rinse the can with a little water and mix meat; season with salt and simmer for two hours (low flame).
4. Top with chopped basil and spoon over your favorite pasta.
5. This meat sauce recipe can also be used also for lasagna, eggplant parmigiana or baked ziti. Enjoy!
